Inspired by the 2015 case of WU Xieyu’s brutal matricide, this 1-hour play is my second attempt to reflect on the relationship between Chinese women and gay men in the Mainland. Through borrowing elements from musicals and dance drama, I try to bring the audience on a chaotic yet beautiful tour into the subconscious world of the two main characters, WU Tianqing (mother) and ZHONG Tianyou (son).
